Scope of Position


Supports the planning and scheduling efforts with Lead/ Sr. Scheduler oversight for project and market 
teams. Assists Lead/ Sr. Scheduler in the preparation, development, and maintenance of project schedules. 
Develops foundational skills in scheduling syst ems, tools, and processes. Produces data pertaining to the 
development, progress, and changes of the project schedule. Participates in training 
efforts regarding scheduling systems, processes, utilization, and understanding construction systems/ 
general building sequencing.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead/ Sr. Scheduler on regular site walk - throughs to verify physical progress against the 
    planned schedule.
  • Facilitate routine schedule update meetings to resolve issues and sequencing conflicts with 
    guidance from the Lead/ Sr. Scheduler.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor schedules to ensure seamless integration into the master 
    schedule. 
  • Track and maintain the subcontractor time frames in accordance with the contract durations.
  • Assist Lead/ Sr. Scheduler with identifying trends and communicate with the project team. 
  • Generate and distribute look - ahead schedules for the project team.
  •  Follow Monthly reporting requirements, including schedule narratives with guidance from the 
    Lead/ Sr. Scheduler.
  • Assist in applying contractual items to the schedule management plan such as definitions of 
    substantial completion, final completion, total float, weather contingency, etc.
  • Assist Lead/ Senior Scheduler in developing delay fragnets and communicate net effects.
  • Assist Lead/ Senior Scheduler in Time Impact Analysis reporting.
  • Assist Lead/ Senior Scheduler in managing multiple scheduling projects and teams.
  • Partner with lead/ senior scheduler in understanding construction, Commissioning and Startup 
    sequencing for different markets.
  • Apply and maintain schedule data integrity efforts in accordance with best practices and company 
    standards.
  • Produce and distribute tailored schedule reporting to meet the project team’s needs that 
    effectively communicates issues, status, health, and progress of the execution plan. 
  • Support communication efforts regarding the schedule to project teams, subcontract partners, and 
    internal leadership.
  • Through guidance from Lead/ Sr. Schedulers, gain understanding of how to 
    handle client facing meetings along with the project team.
  • Understand and apply schedule change management. 
  • Assist Lead/ Senior Scheduler in developing Basis of Schedule report with the project team.
  • Learn to apply resource and cost loading as necessary. 
  • Understand and apply risk management strategies with guidance from senior - level schedulers.
  • Participate actively in schedule training.
  • Attend safety training for the projects to ensure safety is executed properly while 
    on visiting project sites.
  • Obtain OSHA 10 certification and actively participate in Haskell’s safety matters program.
  • Travel, as necessary, to support scheduling efforts with the project team.
  • Participate in industry events and conferences. 
  • Support continual improvement efforts of scheduling practices and processes. 
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Education & Years of Experience

 

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred, 2 years of scheduling required.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in a commercial contracting environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in or have an advanced understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) principles, as it 
    applied to in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading.
  • Proficiency in navigating and general comprehension of contract and specifications.
  • Solid analytic ability with excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex tasks, establish and meet schedules and maintain focus on 
    goals. 
  • Knowledge of industry planning and scheduling practices and construction methods.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

 
While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations, and 
therefore, must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, 
walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. 
Requires good hand - eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual 
acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is
frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
