Scrum Master

Peak Performers has partnered with a State Superior Court to assist in their search for a Scrum Master in Phoenix, AZ. In this position, you will be responsible for facilitating Scrum events and removing impediments so the team can deliver value effectively.

Major duties

• Serve as a servant leader and agile coach for one or more project teams.
• Facilitate Scrum events and remove impediments so the team can deliver value effectively.
• Promote and support the adoption of Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and rules across the Judicial Branch.
• Work closely with the Product Owner, development team, and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve team performance and delivery outcomes.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus two years of professional experience facilitating Agile or Scrum teams, or serving in a project coordination or Scrum Master capacity.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks and methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
• Skill in facilitating meetings and group discussions to drive consensus and keep teams focused on outcomes.
• Skill in using agile project management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira to manage sprints and backlogs.
• Skill in coaching and mentoring team members on agile practices and self-organization.
• Skill in identifying and resolving conflict within teams and across stakeholder groups.
• Ability to foster a collaborative team environment that encourages transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, based on audience needs.
• Ability to relate effectively with business staff, technical staff, and end users, and to influence without direct authority.

• Experience serving as a Scrum Master or agile coach within a government or judicial branch technology environment.
• Experience supporting multiple concurrent Scrum teams or working within a scaled agile framework (SAFe).
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification preferred.

• Rate: $55.19/hour

• W2 Contract

• Worksite Location: Phoenix, AZ

• Onsite

• 9 month contract with opportunity for extension
