Senior Data Engineer
Our staffing partner has partnered with a state government organization to assist in their search for a Informatica Data Engineer in a remote capacity. In this position, you will be responsible for advanced data pipeline development using Informatica Cloud, integrating data from Oracle and API-based sources into Snowflake, and supporting data lake and data warehouse architecture.
Major duties
- Develop ETL/ELT mappings, workflows, and data pipelines using Informatica Cloud Data Integration, including Informatica Mass Ingestion.
- Build and maintain data ingestion processes from Oracle databases and RESTful APIs into Snowflake, including one-time data loads and Change Data Capture (CDC).
- Design, create, and optimize Snowflake databases, data lake structures, and dimensional data warehouse models using facts and dimensions.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into source-to-target mappings, data models, database designs, and technical documentation.
- Develop advanced Snowflake SQL and support data sharing, push-down optimization, and other Snowflake platform capabilities.
- Create ERDs, process flows, interface documentation, and other technical diagrams that clearly communicate database and data pipeline architecture.
- Review and troubleshoot technical work, provide guidance to team members, and help ensure deliverables are completed within tight deadlines.
- Promote code and data integration solutions from development environments into production while following established release processes and version-control practices.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to evaluate existing systems, identify database requirements, and support ongoing data architecture improvements.
What are we looking for?
- 6+ years of experience with Informatica products, including at least 4 years of direct experience with Informatica Cloud Data Integration.
- 5+ years of experience developing advanced SQL queries and using other data interrogation methods.
- 5+ years of experience interpreting business requirements and design specifications and translating them into data mappings and pipelines using major data integration patterns.
- 4+ years of experience with relational database design concepts, including direct experience with Oracle RDBMS.
- 3+ years of experience with data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling, including facts and dimensions.
- 3+ years of experience with static data mappings and Change Data Capture for bulk data movement.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica Mass Ingestion.
- 2+ years of Snowflake experience, including creating, managing, and optimizing databases and working with cloud data warehousing capabilities such as Time Travel.
- Familiarity with GitHub or an equivalent version-control system and experience promoting code from development through production.
- Experience working in state government environments and following established security protocols and processes.
- Experience with Snowpark, Python-focused development, or supporting data science requirements in Snowflake is helpful but not required.
Exciting Opportunity Details
- Rate: $68/hour
- Contract W2 1 year
- Worksite Location: Remote
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT, excluding applicable holidays
