Disability Determination Administrative Assistant
Make a meaningful impact by supporting vital public assistance programs as the Disability Determination Administrative Assistant in Oklahoma City. We are seeking detail-oriented administrative professionals to manage essential record processing, client communications, and provider scheduling in a fast-paced setting.
The Team You Will be Joining You will join a state government agency dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities across Oklahoma. Within this specialized department, the team acts as a crucial bridge for federal Social Security benefit programs by managing client data and processing medical determinations.
Major Duties
- Screen incoming Social Security Disability claims, initiate evaluations, and request required medical records.
- Contact applicants via telephone to complete essential forms, gather missing information, and answer program questions.
- Schedule and purchase consultative physical and mental examinations, monitoring providers to ensure timely receipt of medical reports.
- Access and input highly sensitive personal, financial, and medical information across multiple electronic query and claim systems.
- Verify completeness of medical records upon receipt to authorize vendor payments according to official policies.
What Are We Looking For?
- High school diploma (preferred) or one year of technical clerical/public contact experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and navigating complex electronic database systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accurate typing and grammar, and meticulous documentation skills.
- Professional customer service and telephone communication skills while maintaining strict confidentiality with sensitive data.
- Willingness to clear a required federal background check.
Exciting Opportunity Details
- Rate: $18.00/hour
- Contract: 6–12 Months (Temporary staffing contract with option to extend)
- Worksite Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73131
- Onsite/Hybrid/Remote: 100% Onsite (Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Other key details: Requires an in-person panel interview.
