Payroll Assistant

Peak Performers is seeking a reliable Payroll Assistant to step in and keep multiple rolling payrolls running smoothly during a busy 6-month contract.
Who You Will Be Working With You will be working with a state public benefit corporation responsible for managing, operating, and promoting world-class winter sports facilities and eco-tourism venues across New York State. In this role, you will support the dedicated Human Resources team managing a diverse, multi-venue workforce.

Major Duties
- Calculate and process wages, overtime, differentials, and garnishments across multiple rolling payroll schedules.
- Review payroll registers, audit reports, and timekeeping documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Process employee status updates, compensation changes, direct deposits, stop payments, and check reissuances.
- Administer retirement enrollments, statutory leave programs (including paid parental leave), and associated agency reporting.
- Assist with year-end payroll tasks, W-2 preparations, and maintaining compliant payroll records.
- Provide user guidance and troubleshooting for timekeeping systems across various operational venues.
What We Are Looking For
- 3–5+ years of progressively responsible payroll administration experience in complex organizational environments.
- Proven ability to learn new payroll/timekeeping platforms quickly (experience with systems like UKG or iSolved is a plus).
- Comfort managing overlapping, high-volume payroll cycles under tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of federal/state wage regulations and experience with collective bargaining agreements.
- High level of discretion, analytical accuracy, and strong written/verbal communication skills.
