What You'll Do

  • Provides peer support using their own lived experience to help others feel understood, hopeful, and less alone.
  • Offers practical guidance (e.g., coping strategies, navigating services, building routines) based on what has worked for them personally.
  • Supports recovery goals by helping people set and work toward goals like stability, wellness, employment/education, or community connection.
  • Builds trusting, nonjudgmental relationships and encourages self-advocacy and independence.
  • Works alongside clinicians and community providers (when applicable) to share insights and promote coordinated, person-centered care.
  • Helps reduce isolation by connecting people to groups, resources, and community activities.

What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree with at least 1 year of experience in a human services‑related field
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Required Clearances & Qualifications

  • Certified Peer Specialist Training
  • Peer Specialist Certification (Required)
  • PA Criminal Clearance
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance (if applicable)
  • FBI Fingerprint Clearance
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Not listed on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion lists
