Morgantown Plumbers and Pipefitters apprenticeship program (Apply in-person, applications accepted in June)

Comprehensive Plumbing and Pipefitting Apprenticeship Program in North Central West Virginia Residents from 18 North Central West Virginia counties are invited to apply for apprenticeship opportunities with the Morgantown Plumbers & Pipefitters Joint Apprenticeship Committee. Applications are accepted every June.


The five-year program covers all areas of the plumbing and pipefitting trade, including pipe welding certification, medical gas certification, blueprint reading, and plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.

Requirements

Apprenticeship Qualifications

Apprentices gain hands-on experience under the supervision of journeymen and attend classes two nights a week.

Applicants must be of legal working age and hold a high school diploma or GED. A birth certificate, diploma, transcripts, or equivalent documents are required at the time of application.

Military experience may be credited through the Helmets-to-Hardhats program if a DD-214 form is submitted.

Applicants must be legal residents of one of the following counties: Barbour, Braxton, Doddridge, Gilmer, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Harrison, Lewis, Marion, Mineral, Monongalia, Pendleton, Preston, Randolph, Taylor, Tucker, or Upshur.

A valid driver’s license is required, along with a $20 application fee.

Applicants will be scheduled for a standardized aptitude test and must pass a substance abuse test before joining the program.

An eligibility list will be created from received applications. If you previously applied and were not accepted, you may reapply.
